Getting it Together- Part 1: Getting Organized

This is something I should’ve done when I first started my… “financial journey”- for lack of a better word. 😛

This is going to be a 4 part series covering 4 different-but related aspects of my finances.

To start, this week I am going to focus on getting financially organized. In today’s world pretty much everything is automated, computerized or digital. As important as that is, such as online banking, I think having some tangible things- checklists and paper budgets, will help me feel more in touch with my debt repayment and with my money.

Steps for Financial Organization

– Binder for all my papers/checklists/budget

– Bill Payment Checklist: 1-15, 16-31 Calendar

– Breakdown of Each Savings Account

– Debt Repayment Tracker (on blog too)

– Receipt Pouch

I will complete these tasks and post about how I found this task.

Do you have any other suggestions of how to get financially organized?
